Jake started his training contract in September 2019.
Areas of expertise
Jake’s first seat was with the Litigation Department. Jake enjoyed the varied nature of commercial litigation work and dealt with contractual matters, debt recovery, property disputes, product liability and insolvency matters. Jake is gained invaluable experience working alongside a group of knowledgeable and highly skilled litigators.
Jake’s tasks included drafting legal documents, meeting with clients, attending court hearings and participating in conferences with counsel. Such experience allowed Jake to experience the ways in which litigators exchange legal arguments to negotiate the best results for their clients.
Jake’s second seat was in the Banking and Real Estate Finance Department. His work consisted of investigating and reporting on title, assisting with the drafting of security documents and liaising with clients/banks and other solicitors involved with the leasing of commercial and largescale residential properties. Jake worked closely with the team to become accustomed with large scale lending transactions.
Jake third seat was with the Corporate department. His work consisted of assisting with company restructuring, acquisitions and disposals both during the transaction and post completion.
Jakes final seat is in the Litigation department and will qualify in March 2021.
