Menopause in the workplace: HR Breakfast Club7th October 2021 - Published by Kuits Employment team
In this HR Breakfast Club webinar, Kuits Employment Partner Sally Bird was joined by guest speakers Emma Harvey, Director of Industrial Relations Strategy of Centrica and Dr Dan Bunstone, Cheif Medical Officer at Speed Medical to discuss all things menopause in the workplace. This is ahead of World Menopause day, an event which aims to raise awareness around the menopause and support options for improving health and wellbeing, on Monday 18th October.
The issues that come with the menopause can greatly affect women both physically and mentally, and as women make up approximately half of the workforce, with around 3.5 million being over the age of 50, it is vital that employers understand the condition and what they can do to assist their employees at this time. Failure to do so can make a business vulnerable to cases of sex, disability or age discrimination cases.
