Celebrating 10 years of the Kuits’ Top 50 Northern Restaurant and Bars Awards

The tenth Kuits NRB Top Fifty 2023 celebrating the best leisure and hospitality operators in the North of England were announced at an exclusive reception on 14th March 2023.

The winners were chosen following rigorous research which was presented to an expert judging panel. The panel included Felicity Tulloch, Partner and Head of Leisure and Licensing at Kuits, along with experts in the fields of hospitality finance, accountancy, property and consultancy who spent hours sifting through hundreds of pages of judging notes to ensure the final fifty truly represents the best of the best.

This year’s list featured a mix of long-established operators, as well as up-and-coming talent and 11 new entries. The new entries included key individuals from A Very Inc, Adam Reid at The French, Climat, Fat Hippo, Higher Ground, Madre, Market Operations, Moor Hall, Northcote, The Old Stamp House and The Tommy Banks Group.

Special achievement awards were presented to Marko Husak and Mayur Patel of Indian street food and brewery brand, Bundobust, Matthew Farrell and John Ennis of Graffiti Spirit Group, and Andy Haygarth and Matt Robson of retro arcade bar group, NQ64.

Head of Leisure and Licensing at Kuits, Felicity Tulloch, commented: “In the last two years, we have seen just how adaptable and resilient the operators in this sector are. Northern Restaurant & Bar provides a national stage for the North’s thriving food and drink industry, and we’re proud to be associated with it.”

Kuits’ Licensing team works with some of the biggest national operators and are the only Licensing team in the North West to be ranked in Tier 1 by Legal 500.
