Double accolade for Manchester law firm

Kuits named in Newsweek’s list of the UK’s top 100 Most Loved Workplaces for 2022 and Times Best 200 Law Firms 2023

Newsweek announced their first annual rankings for the U.K.’s Top 100 Most Loved Workplaces® list on 2nd November, and Manchester commercial law firm, Kuits, was ranked number 32.

Kuits were one of only 3 UK Law firms mentioned in the Newsweek listings and the only one based in the Northwest.

The results were determined after surveying more than 1.4 million employees from businesses with workforces varying in size from 50 to more than 10,000. The list recognizes companies that put respect, caring, and appreciation for their employees at the centre of their business model and, in doing so, have earned the loyalty and respect of the people who work for them.

Managing Partner, Steve Eccleston commented; “We are proud to have been recognised as a Most Loved Workplace in Newsweek especially as a large part of the research is based on feedback from our staff. We have created and are constantly trying to improve, a flexible working environment where our team feels valued and happy as well as having a healthy work-life balance. It’s nice that this is recognised and no more than a fair reflection of the great people we have working here.”

Nancy Cooper, Global Editor in Chief at Newsweek said; ““As a result of ‘The Great Resignation,’ more companies recognize the importance of focusing on employee satisfaction to not only attract but retain top talent,” said Nancy Cooper, Global Editor in Chief, Newsweek. “The businesses on this year’s list clearly demonstrated that commitment.”

How positive workers feel about their future at the company, career achievement, how much employer values align with employee values, respect at all levels, and the level of collaboration at the firm were the five critical areas measured to gauge employee sentiment. In addition, areas such as inclusion, diversity, equity and belonging, and company response and adaptability to the COVID-19 pandemic, such as return-to-office rules, were identified and analysed in relation to the five critical areas measured.

Kuits were also recognised today as one of the UK’s Top 200 UK law firms by the Times Newspaper, the Times list is based on the views of other law firms.

Steve Eccleston added; “The Times Ranking follows our recent strong performances in Chambers UK and Legal 500 and is a pleasing reflection of a strong overall performance by the firm. We are respected for our legal ability by other lawyers as evidenced by the Times ranking, for our client service by clients acknowledged by the Chambers and Legal 500 rankings and as a great place to work by Newsweek. It’s amazing what good people can do when given the opportunity and we have a lot of good people! “
