Craig is an experienced UK and European patent attorney with a technical background in physics and materials science. He entered the patent profession in 2007 immediately after graduating from university and trained at one of the UK’s top-tier IP firms where he progressed to partner.
Craig has represented clients of all sizes before the UK Intellectual Property Office (UKIPO), European Patent Office (EPO) and World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO). For several years he drafted and prosecuted patent applications for large corporates while working closely with their in-house teams. In recent years, he has been more focused on securing patent protection on key technologies for startups/spinouts and devising suitable IP strategies to help them attract early-stage investment. Craig has also established strong working relationships with foreign attorneys around the world via agency cases, and has successfully defended several high-value patents in EPO opposition and appeal proceedings.
Craig has handled a wide range of technologies throughout his career to date, including autonomous vehicles, satellite navigation, nanotechnology, energy storage, telecommunications, robotics, medical devices, and laboratory equipment. He is particularly experienced in software patents for computer-implemented inventions and has helped many clients to navigate this complex area of patent law.
“Craig is an extremely hardworking and talented attorney who delivers a high-quality work product. He is always conscientious about using client funds responsibly and is not afraid to recommend unorthodox strategies to get cases over the hump.” – IAM Patent 1000, 2025
