Kuits advise on the sale of Common Ground

Manchester commercial law firm, Kuits, recently advised on the sale of successful Altrincham café bar to the owners of California Coffee & Wine.

Common Ground is a popular establishment in Altrincham occupying a prestigious space on Shaw’s Road which was acquired by Carl Peters in 2021. The cafe has grown in the last 2 years to include evening events and private parties. In 2022 Carl went on to launch Alibi, a much loved cocktail and karaoke bar, which is also based on Shaw’s Road in Altrincham. California Coffee & Wine has seen great success since it opened on Oxford Road in 2018 and this second venue will continue the California theme being named West Beverly.

Carl Peters commented; “It has been an absolute privilege and pleasure to own Common Ground since June 2021 but we took the decision to sell the business and concentrate on expanding Alibi which will include a mobile bar and private event service and continue our corporate cheese and wine events business, Decent Drop.  We’re delighted that Justin and Diana from California Coffee & Wine are taking over the space as it allows both our businesses to grow to the next level of our ambitions.
