Solicitor/Legal Executive (Residential development)


Overview

  • Solicitor/Legal Executive 3-5 years PQE.
  • Experience of residential development/unit sales/new build sales essential.
  • Experience of a varied caseload sales, purchases, re-finance.
  • Experience of dealing with SME’s/developer clients directly and efficiently.
  • Experience of drafting of estate documentation preferable.
  • Commercial property experience including drafting experience would be beneficial but not essential.
  • Supervisory/Management experience would be preferable but not essential.
  • Must be confident and able to work independently with minimal supervision.

We are seeking an ambitious residential property lawyer to join our team. The successful candidate will take on a mixed case load of residential matters but with a focus on Residential Development/plot sales. The successful candidate will advise housebuilders, SME developers, property traders and investors on a broad range of residential and plot sale matters. Key responsibilities.

Plot Sales/Residential Development schemes
  • Dealing with site assembly including drafting and preparation of precedent documentation and legal packs.
  • Managing plot sale transactions on behalf of developer clients with the day-to-day progression being dealt with by a small team of paralegals.
  • Ensuring adherence to developer deadlines and targets.
  • Dealing with re-finance matters on behalf of developers.
Sales, purchases, re-finance

In addition to development work, the candidate can expect to take on a broad range of residential property matters on behalf of clients of the practice, which may include freehold and leasehold sales and purchases, refinance matters, BTL property investment matters.

Client Relationship Management
  • Building and maintaining strong client relationships.
  • Acting as a day-to-day contact for key clients.
  • Supporting business development initiatives and networking opportunities.
  • Contributing to the growth of the residential development team.

The ideal candidate would have a leaning to commercial property/residential development and will be capable to assist in the drafting of estate documentation generally. Importantly, the candidate would be capable of dealing with drafting queries from junior fee earners and have experience in organising completion of volume units on large development sites.

The candidate will need to be a driven, ambitious and efficient person and will need to be used to dealing with a large and demanding caseload in a busy office.
