The Terrorism (Protection of Premises) Act 2025, more commonly known as Martyn’s Law, is designed to improve public safety by requiring certain venues and events to be better prepares for potential terrorist attacks.
Most local authorities now request that at least one member of staff has attended the ACT Awareness (Action Counters Terrorism) online training. The training has now been updated with a view to raise awareness even further of the threat of terrorism and empower people to recognise and report suspicious activity.
The ACT Awareness (Action Counters Terrorism) online training offers an engaging and accessible working experience with realistic scenarios containing the latest guidance. The training will teach you about current terrorist methods, how to identify potential indicators of suspicious behaviour, and what to do when you have concerns.
The course is available for everyone and will be particularly valuable to those working in public facing environments, crowded areas, events, retail, hospitality, transport, education and healthcare plus others.
