Kuits launches business crime offering with appointment of consultant24 Feb 2016
Manchester commercial law firm Kuits has appointed Wendi Bussin as a specialist regulatory and business crime consultant in a strategic move that will enhance its litigation, tax investigation and contentious fraud service offerings.
Wendi will work as a consultant within the firm’s commercial litigation team and oversee business crime matters.
With over 20 years of experience, Wendi has acted in numerous large-scale fraud prosecutions and developed particular expertise in tax issue resolution and asset forfeiture. She has defended both companies and individuals in numerous cases brought by the Serious Fraud Office and HMRC, with particular experience of very high cost cases (VHCCs), including several major missing trader frauds.
She joins Kuits as a consultant having previously been a founding partner of Garstangs Burrows Bussin LLP.
Robert Levy, executive partner for Kuits and offshore tax specialist, commented: “The firm already holds an excellent reputation for commercial litigation and tax investigation matters. It is therefore a natural move for us to expand our offering into business crime in recognition of the tightening of HMRC’s approach to tax evasion in recent years, as well as developments in the key business and professional regulatory sectors.
“Wendi’s wealth of experience means she is the perfect candidate to drive the firm forward in this area and we are delighted to welcome her to our team.”
