Kuits advises on hotly-anticipated Asha’s opening16 Sep 2015
Commercial law firm Kuits has advised on the opening of the new Asha’s restaurant in Manchester city centre.
The operator is due to open its second UK premises, offering contemporary Indian cuisine, on Peter Street this week. Its initial UK offering in Birmingham has already attracted recognition from the Michelin Guide and The Sunday Times.
Kuits’ licensing team, which retained its top-tier ranking in the Chambers and Legal 500 UK Guides this year, advised the management team of Asha’s Restaurants on the licensing arrangements for the 100-seater restaurant and cocktail bar.
The firm’s commercial property team also provided advice relating to the lease.
Felicity Tulloch, Senior Associate in Kuits’ licensing team, said: “With multiple premises in the Middle East, including Dubai, Abu Dhabi, Kuwait, Qatar and Bahrain, Asha’s is already well-established in this region. The launch of its Manchester premises signals the commitment of the management team to replicate the success of its Birmingham restaurant and expand its brand here in the UK.
Tony Lyons, Head of Licensing, said: “We are delighted to have been part of this expansion. I have already had a sneak preview and I am very excited about seeing everyone’s reaction at the launch.”
It has been confirmed that Bollywood star and owner Asha Bhosle will be present for the launch on 17 September.
