Kuits supports Manchester International Festival17 Nov 2016
Kuits Solicitors is once again delighted to announce that it is supporting Manchester International Festival (MIF) in 2017.
MIF brings together artists from different art forms and backgrounds to create dynamic, innovative and forward-thinking new work that is staged across Greater Manchester, from theatres, galleries and concert halls to railway depots, churches and car parks. The Festival is staged every two years in Manchester, with next year’s taking place at venues across the city from 29 June to 16 July.
Sponsorship is essential to making the Festival possible and together supporters have raised more than £2 million so far this year, representing over 75% of the sponsorship target for the 2017 event. These contributions will help ensure that the Festival can continue to develop new work for – and in -the city, invest in local people, bring international artists to Manchester, as well as reaching new audiences abroad. Supporters range from major national and international companies to local small businesses and individual donors.
John McGrath, the Festival’s new artistic director said: “I am thrilled to welcome all of our supporters on board for the 2017 Festival, new and returning. Since MIF’s inception the Manchester business community has committed an unprecedented level of support. That support allows work of the most ambitious and exciting scale to be made right here in Manchester, work which we can then export to Festivals, theatres and arts centres round the world.”
Robert Levy, executive partner at Kuits, added: “As it continues to forge a global reputation, MIF helps cement Manchester’s position as a city that is at the forefront of the global arts scene, enhancing the city’s reputation for all of us that live and work here. As a proud Mancunian firm that has operated in the city for over 100 years, we’re delighted to once again offer our support to the Festival, ensuring 2017 sees the best event yet.”
MIF launched in 2007 as an artist-led festival presenting new works from across the spectrum of performing arts, visual arts and popular culture. The Festival has commissioned, produced and presented world premieres by artists as diverse as Björk, Steve McQueen, Maxine Peake, Robert Wilson, Elbow, Wayne McGregor, Zaha Hadid Architects, Damon Albarn, Punchdrunk and Marina Abramović, among many others.
