Kuits step up to charity campaign by clocking over 4,000,000 steps07 Oct 2016
A group of employees at Manchester commercial law firm Kuits have been putting themselves through their paces by walking 10,000 steps per day throughout September to raise money for Cancer Research UK.
Over a dozen people from across the firm, including partners, solicitors and support staff, have stepped up to the charity’s Walk All Over Cancer challenge and have been tracking their progress using pedometers, activity trackers and smartphone apps.
Each individual will have clocked up 150 miles over the course of the month – the equivalent of walking from Manchester to London.
As a team, they will have achieved a total of 4.2m steps – the equivalent of 2,100 miles and approximately the distance between Kuits’ city centre offices to Nova Scotia.
Commercial property partner Martin Davies, who has been leading the troupe in its efforts, said: “As a firm, we put a lot of effort into ensuring our people have a good work-life balance, so it has been wonderful to get involved in something that has such a positive impact on wellbeing while raising money for a good cause at the same time.”
