Laura joined Kuits in July 2017 as a Paralegal in the Residential Property Department. Laura started her training contract with Kuits in 2019.
Areas of Expertise
Whilst working in the Residential Property Department, Laura assisted in the progression of sale, purchase and re-finance matters. She also has prior experience in Wills, Trusts, Tax and Probate before joining Kuits.
In September 2019, Laura began her first seat in our Family department where she gained invaluable experience assisting with divorce and financial proceedings, and private law children proceedings. Laura also assisted in the drafting of pre-nuptial agreements and separation agreements, as well as advising clients on jurisdictional matters.
Laura’s second seat was in our Licensing department. Here she assisted the team with drafting and submitting various applications, in particular DPS applications and Temporary Event Notices. Laura also carried out research and prepared for/attending hearings alongside more senior members of the team.
During Laura’s third seat, she is assisting the Tax and Probate team. Laura assists the team with drafting Wills, providing tax advice on estate planning (especially for high net-worth individuals) and administering estates. Laura has also had the opportunity to assist in advising clients on the tax implications of trading cryptocurrency and how residence and domicile can impact upon an individual’s liability; an area which she has a particular interest in.
Laura was awarded the ‘Highest Achieving Student in Private Client’ by the University of Law during her LPC.
She also offered Pro Bono work in both Probate and Housing Law during her time at the University of Liverpool.’
