Areas of Expertise
Following time spent in the General Counsel’s Division at the Financial Conduct Authority (FCA), Amelia has focused her practice on financial services regulation. She has experience of advising authorised firms as well as FinTechs, entrepreneurs and those looking to rely on an activity being excluded or an exemption being available.
Amelia has advised clients on a broad range of matters including regulatory queries connected to a transaction such as a share offering and a securitisation. Queries have included those concerning: the financial promotion rules; fund structures and marketing; collective investment schemes; authorisation; the Prospectus Regulation and other offering documentation (inter alia). There has often been a cross-border aspect to her work.
Amelia understands the importance of being a legal business partner to her clients. She adds value by marrying attention to detail with practical legal advice.
Amelia is particularly interested in wealth management and is working towards her Chartered Institute for Securities & Investment (CISI) Investment Advice Diploma.
Amelia read Oriental Studies: Egyptology at the University of Liverpool.
