Manchester commercial law firm Kuits has advised James Fleming & Company Limited, part of the Zeelandia global baking ingredients manufacturing group, on the purchase of the assets of Cheshire based filling specialist, John Morley relating to fruit fillings, fruit soaking, mincement, date past and macpaste.
The acquisition will see John Morley’s Congleton based-site produce mincemeat and bakery ingredients, fruit filling and sauce, dried fruit and retail jars under the James Fleming division of Zeelandia.
The team at Kuits, led by Partner Kirsti Pinnell, acted for Zeelandia UK on the deal.
Kirsti Pinnell said: “We are delighted to have acted on this deal for the Zeelandia Group, which will help them further expand their offering to their customer base of industrial, craft, wholesale and in-store bakery businesses.”
“We have recently seen a significant increase in corporate transactions, with clients seeking growth through acquisition.”
David Amos, Zeelandia UK said: “We are very excited to welcome the John Morley range into Zeelandia UK. The business has a long-standing tradition for quality products, and considerable expertise in meeting the needs of industrial bakeries and foodservice customers. It also has a culture where people are highly valued and as a family company with heritage dating back to the year 1900, we share many of the same values.”
