About the Kuits Trainee Programme
Kuits is one of the pre-eminent corporate and commercial law firms in the North West as evidenced in our rankings within both the Legal 500 and the Legal 200 and our 2021 rating by the Times as one of the top 100 UK law firms.
We consider ourselves to be trusted advisors who are committed to supporting our clients’ business and personal needs, both now and in the future.
Our success in doing this lies not only in our wealth of technical knowledge –which is considerable – nor our comprehensive range of services but also in our ability to build, develop and sustain long term relationships with our clients which can sometimes span generations.
So what do we look for in our trainees?
To maintain our success, we need personalities who are bright, enthusiastic, committed, hard- working, and who are willing to take on responsibility at an early stage in their career.
A training contract at Kuits provides you with early exposure to clients and the opportunity to learn and develop skills as a trusted advisor from day one – not just within.
Here’s what some of our current trainees say:
“Eight weeks in, life as a trainee with the Commercial Property team (my first seat) has exceeded my expectations. The work is varied and interesting and I have been given plenty of responsibility to run matters with the guidance and support of members of the team. Everyone, from secretaries to partners are friendly and approachable and happy to assist. I am currently working closely with my supervising partner and the Corporate team on the property aspects of a business transaction, as well as drafting leases and licences to assign and working on larger projects. The team also hold weekly training sessions which is great for building on the practical experience I have so far gained.“
“I get to shadow and work closely with experience solicitors on large development projects, where I have had the opportunity to contribute and feel part of a team. I have regular access to partners who help monitor and supervise your training and workload. We have also been afforded regular training sessions which foster and update our legal knowledge. Overall, life as a trainee at Kuits has been an exciting experience.”
‘“The great thing about Kuits is that I get to work with some excellent, big-name clients, while also receiving real responsibility from an early stage. From my first seat I was given my own cases to run, but there is always an experienced lawyer on hand to provide guidance when it is needed.”
Post training contract, our retention rates are deliberately high because we are looking for people who want to not only begin their career with Kuits, but who will stay and continue to develop both their careers and the success of the practice.
Many of our existing fee earners and Partners joined us first as trainee solicitors and we believe that, amongst other things, these values of teamwork and shared understanding of goals really help contribute to our success.

"Throughout my different roles within the firm, my voice has never been ignored and my opinion has regularly been sought and valued. I have never felt like I am simply just a number or a statistic which is something I often hear from friends within the industry. People make an real effort to get to know each other on a personal level and I am happy to call many of my colleagues my friends. "
