KUITS OBTAINS MAGISTRATES’ LAST EXTENDED DRINKING LICENCE |
23rd Nov 2005 |
Manchester law firm Kuit Steinart Levy has obtained the last extended drinking licence to be awarded by the magistrate, following a hearing at Manchester Magistrates Court this morning. The Crown and Anchor on Cateaton Street, Manchester, has been awarded a licence which will allow the pub to carry on serving alcohol between 11pm and midnight tonight. Without the additional licence, the Crown and Anchor would have been required by law to cease trading during the hour before the new extended licensing hours comes into effect at 12pm. Steven Reynolds, specialist lawyer in Kuit Steinart Levy’s licensing department commented: “The new licensing regime represent a massive change for the industry, where laws have remained unchanged for centuries. As Manchester’s leading licensing law firm, Kuit Steinart Levy has handled thousands of applications and it’s particularly pleasing therefore that we have been involved in the Magistrates Courts’ very last application.” Ends For further information please contact: |
