2nd August 2005 |
Manchester law firm, Kuit Steinart Levy has made a significant addition to its intellectual property department with the appointment of Ian Morris. Morris, who has practised as an intellectual property specialist in Manchester for 30 years, will be heading up Kuits’ contentious IP work when he joins the firm this week. Colin Hoffman will continue to lead the firm’s non-contentious team. Morris’s move to Kuits follows several years as the head of Berg Legal’s IP team. The opportunity to work with Colin Hoffman was a major factor in his decision to move to Kuits: “I have known Colin professionally throughout my career and highly respect his work in the IP field. The opportunity to work alongside him within such a significant practice as Kuits was irresistible and I am very much looking forward to the challenges ahead.” A member of The Intellectual Property Lawyers’ Association and an Associate member of The Chartered Institute of Patent Agents, Morris co-wrote the respected text, ‘The Modern Law of Design’ and has been involved in a number of leading cases. Described by Chambers & Partners as ‘an effective and uncompromising litigator’, he will be a vital asset to Kuits’ IP team, says Robert Levy, executive partner at the firm: “We already have a strong reputation in IP thanks to the fantastic work that Colin and his team have undertaken, but Ian’s arrival will add an extra dimension to our expertise and allow us to further Kuits’ presence in this important field. With Ian and Colin working side by side we will now boast two of the leading IP specialists in the North West and we are very excited at this prospect.” Ends For further information please contact: |
