28-Jun-2011A clothing company has won a four-year legal battle with one of the world's fashion giants to answer the question - when is a crocodile not a crocodile?
Baker Street Clothing Ltd was told it could not use its Alligator clothing brand last year as people might confuse it with Lacoste's crocodile logo.
But recently the company won its appeal. Joel Brown, the managing director, said: "This is a victory for smaller companies everywhere to show they can take on these giant organisations and win."
Ian Morris, who represented the company, said: "This is a very significant decision limiting the extent of the monopoly of a famous trademark."
