28-Jun-2011 SALFORD-based print labelling firm Harland has bought Crewe-based competitor Cobalt IS Auto ID for an undisclosed sum.Harland is a manufacturer of specialist labelling machinery with operations in the UK, USA, France and China, supplying firms in the pharmaceutical, toiletries, cosmetics, beverage, food and chemicals sectors. Its customer base includes blue-chip clients such as Dior, Gillette, GlaxsoSmithKline, Procter & Gamble and Shell.
Cobalt I.S. Auto ID makes print labelling equipment.
Harland was advised on the deal by Jan Winstanley of Manchester-based law firm Kuits. The shareholders of Cobalt were advised by Stuart Hodge Corporate Lawyers LLP, and the sale process was managed by BCMS Corporate.
Winstanley said: “Harland is well established within the labelling equipment and machinery markets. We are delighted to have concluded this deal and wish Harland every success in increasing their market share.”
