Moves at Kuits

13-Jun-2011 Manchester law firm Kuits Solicitors continues its growth and expansion of services with the addition of four new faces to bolster its private client practice, intellectual property team and construction expertise.

The Firm unveils an extension to its private client practice with a new family service to be led by Lisa Kemp. Joining Kuits as Head of Family, Lisa will be responsible for developing this new area of service alongside Graham Wood, Head of Tax and Estate Planning. Lisa has appeared on BBC’s The One Show commenting on her field of expertise.

Executive Partner, Robert Levy explains the hire, “Lisa brings with her a wealth of experience and a strong reputation within the market. Family is an area we have been looking at for a while, and is a natural extension to our private client offering. We are delighted to welcome someone of Lisa’s calibre.”

In addition to the new Family service, the thriving Intellectual Property Team welcomes consultant Rudi Kidd and solicitor Louise Routledge.

For many years Rudi ran Gray & Co based in Manchester City Centre, his own successful practice advising clients in the entertainment, sports and media industries on all areas of entertainment and media law. Louise who joins from Lee & Priestly LLP in Leeds specialises in all areas of contentious and non-contentious intellectual property.

Robert continued, “Given the expansion of our IP activity over the last 12 months, which includes advising on a number of high profile cases, we are taking the opportunity to broaden and strengthen the service we can give to clients, both old and new.”

Also joining Kuits is construction solicitor Simon Franklin who previously worked at Trowers & Hamilins LLP in London. Simon has experience in all areas of construction law and will work closely with the Firm’s strong Real Estate Development and Commercial Property Teams.

Kuits has clear ambitions to strengthen its position within the North West legal market. Behind the plans for growth are Executive Partner Robert Levy and Managing Partner Steve Eccleston. Steve explains, “We are delighted to welcome Lisa, Rudi, Louise and Simon to Kuits. The hires follow previous successful strategies of attracting specialists to enhance our overall service and the appointments allow us to strengthen our foothold within the market. They represent a clear sign of Kuits determination to expand its core areas as well as to identify and develop appropriate niche markets with the view of bolstering its position as a leading practice for commercial clients and high net worth individuals in the North West legal market. We continue to look forward whilst retaining our culture and key values to provide dynamic commercial advice through approachable and accessible service.”

In addition to the recent appointments the Firm has also promoted David Marlor and Duncan McGregor to Associates in the Banking and Real Estate Finance and Residential Property departments respectively.
